A signifcant ice storm fell upon New England last week. We were without power for 3 days. Our most useful tools were: woodstove, oil lamps, rechargeable (manual) flashlight, and Kate's sheep fleece. Our house got down to 45 degrees, but the downstairs stayed toasty warm thanks to Darrell's wood gathering skills.
